Unite behind Ole Miss! That’s the simple message behind Rebels Unite, a new initiative launched by the Ole Miss Alumni Association to help students, alumni and friends forge a lifelong connection with the University of Mississippi.
“In recent weeks, we’ve noticed Ole Miss fans using the #RebelsUnite hashtag on social media,” said OMAA Executive Director Kirk Purdom (BA 93). “We thought, that’s one of the things that makes Ole Miss so special—we’re a family, and we rally around one another in both good times and bad.”
The Alumni Association will celebrate that Rebel spirit in the coming year, with an emphasis on making active Alumni Association membership more valuable and helpful.
“A recent survey of alumni showed that our members love Ole Miss and the Alumni Association, but may not be aware of everything we offer,” Purdom said. “We’re going to focus on boosting our member benefits, and most importantly, helping Rebels connect with each other whether it be on campus or around the world.”
At the center of the campaign is olemissalumni.com/unite, a site that serves as a central location for students, alumni, fans and friends to learn about alumni events, new member benefits, volunteering opportunities and ways to connect with Ole Miss alumni in their areas.
“The site will evolve over time, and we hope it’ll be a helpful one-stop place for our alumni and friends to both learn about and stay connected with Ole Miss,” Purdom said.
The Ole Miss Alumni Association is one of the strongest in the country, with nearly 28,000 members. Benefits of active membership include a subscription to the Ole Miss Alumni Review magazine, retail and restaurant discounts, free access to Member Zone on home football game days, invitations to special events and more.
“Now is the time to show the world we stand behind Ole Miss,” Purdom said. “Our membership proves that we have the greatest alumni base in the nation.”
