Whitley Simmons is a seasoned sports professional with over 14 years of diverse experience. A proud graduate of the University of Mississippi, she discovered her passion for sports during an impactful internship with the sports marketing department. She continued her education at Xavier University where she received her master’s in sport administration. Currently at ESPN, Whitley serves as an Event Supervisor and helps manage a selection of ESPN’s 34 owned and operated events, including the Bahamas Bowl, Clearwater Invitational and the historic 2022 Armed Forces Classic aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.
Her role encompasses everything from event conception to execution, ensuring unforgettable experiences for student-athletes and fans.
Previously, as the Business Development and Community Relations Manager for the ACC Championships, Whitley led ticket sales for football, women’s basketball, and baseball championships, achieving significant growth in revenue and attendance while enhancing fan engagement. A standout moment in her career was working during the Tokyo Olympics, overseeing logistics for a TOP sponsor activation amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Passionate about mentoring, Whitley actively engages with college students and recent graduates, sharing insights and inspiring the next generation of sports leaders. Whitley currently resides in Charlotte, NC with her husband and two dogs.
