Vinod Kannuthurai joined the Office of India and Bhutan Affairs at the U.S Department of State in August 2018. He currently serves as the Political Unit Chief and is a mid-career Civil Service Officer. Vinod serves as the desk lead on Indian domestic political issues and has oversight over India’s external relations, defense and security issues, consular and management issues, and Congressional relations.
A native Mississippian with family roots in southern India, Vinod is married and is the proud dad of an adorable and trouble-seeking toddler.
