As the Assistant Attaché, SA DePriest supported the warfighter in a kinetic and demanding environment. SA DePriest recognized the opportunity to increase integrated defenses through dozens of assessments for frequented destinations of DoD High Risk Personnel. SA DePriest created joint processes with Country Team members to capture and produce valuable counterintelligence information. SA DePriest has on numerous occasions leveraged host nation security contacts and local expertise to coordinate the evacuation of DoD personnel from hostile zones under indirect fire, which resulted in the safety of hundreds of DoD personnel and naval warships. During the current Israeli-Hamas War (Operation Swords of Iron), SA DePriest was responsible for providing Country Team leadership and senior DoD leaders with time-sensitive intelligence, enabling them to make informed decisions and plan for future operations. Additionally, she identified and disseminated real-time threat information to DoD personnel located in Israel through a novel approach she created and managed. In October 2023, Country Team leadership selected SA DePriest to lead and coordinate the evacuation of 2,200 American citizens from the Port of Haifa. While under indirect fire, SA DePriest coordinated with host nation security services to safeguard these departing American citizens. SA DePriest played a crucial role in delivering counterintelligence and force protection support for the Department of Defense's humanitarian aid efforts in Gaza. This marked the first-ever implementation of the Joint Logistics Over-the-Shore operations in an active combat zone. Finally, SA DePriest established a robust layered security framework by fostering strong liaisons and collaboration with host nation partners, enhancing the protection of the joint U.S. and Israeli integrated air defense system, including the CENTCOM-deployed Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD), against numerous ballistic missile attacks from Iran and its proxy groups.
