Sonya Coleman, PA-C, is a Physician Assistant at Ochsner Health in New Orleans, Louisiana. With nearly a decade of experience in primary care, she is recognized for her professionalism, clinical excellence, and genuine empathy.

A native of Cleveland, Mississippi, Sonya earned her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from the University of Mississippi and her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center–Shreveport.

She has been honored for her leadership and service, receiving Ochsner’s Ed Martin’s Core Values Award and being named Preceptor of the Year by LSU Health Sciences Center–Shreveport. At Ochsner, she partners with patients to manage chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, emphasizing prevention, education, and whole-person wellness. Her work reflects a strong commitment to expanding access to compassionate, equitable healthcare across diverse communities.
