____________________

Margaret Garth is an award-winning educator, storyteller, and department leader who believes that language has the power to transform lives. A proud graduate of the University of Mississippi, she earned both her B.A. in English Education and M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, experiences that shaped her belief that education is both an art and an act of service.

Over the past decade, Margaret has inspired students to think critically, write fearlessly, and engage empathetically with the world around them. She helped launch and lead the English Department at Innovation Academy, a nationally recognized STEM magnet high school in Atlanta, where she also chaired the School Governance Council and served as the inaugural AP Capstone Lead. She was recognized as an Atlanta Journal-Constitution Top 10 Teacher of the Year for her innovation and impact in the classroom.

Now based in New York City, Margaret teaches English at The Nightingale-Bamford School, where she continues to help students find their voices through storytelling and self-discovery. Whether guiding girls through their first essay or leading students abroad to see the world through a new lens, her mission remains the same: to ignite curiosity, compassion, and confidence through the written word, a passion first sparked at Ole Miss and carried into every classroom she’s ever taught.
