As Amazon’s Policy Counsel, Casey led the entire company’s U.S. political law compliance program in all 50 states and at the federal level. Her work primarily focused on helping Amazon executives and lobbyists achieve their public policy goals against complex regulatory challenges. Thanks to Casey’s work, Amazon built a comprehensive political giving model that enabled the company to engage in critical elections and ballot measures.
Casey also served as a partner at Chalmers & Adams, where she advised clients on election and campaign finance law, ethics law, Foreign Agent Registration Act, pay-to-play laws, government contractor provisions, and rules governing regulated industries like public utilities, pension programs, and gaming. Casey successfully defended public officials, campaigns, and political committees throughout investigations and enforcement matters before the Federal Election Commission, Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. House and Senate Ethics Committees, and various state/local agencies.
During the 2017 through the 2019 election cycles, Casey served as the Deputy General Counsel to the Republican Governors Association. In this role, Casey advised the organization and its affiliates on how to raise and spend over 300 million dollars in each state and territory to support various gubernatorial elections.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Casey served as a law clerk to the late Senator Thad Cochran and former Auditor Stacey Pickering, and as a staff member on the Senate Defense Appropriations Committee.
Notably, Casey also served as the Scholarship Chair of the Young Alumni Counsel, where she expanded the reach of the Young Alumni Scholarship program. Under her leadership, she established and oversaw both the Tulip and Trashcan fundraising programs and selection of its first scholarship recip
