A new way for Rebels to show their pride on the road is available in South Carolina. The University of Mississippi has an Ole Miss affinity license plate offered through the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles’ specialty plate program. For Ole Miss supporters in South Carolina, the process to find and purchase the plate requires navigating to the DMV’s gallery page.
How to find and order the Ole Miss plate:
- Visit the South Carolina DMV specialty plate gallery HERE.
- On the gallery page, use the filter labeled “College/University.”
- Scroll through the list of collegiate plates until you locate the University of Mississippi plate or use the search function.
- Select the listing and follow the instructions to apply for the specialty plate through the DMV.
- Complete the required application and pay the specialty plate fee along with your standard vehicle registration fees.
Specialty plates in South Carolina typically require submitting the state’s Application for Special Plate (Form MV-95) along with the applicable fees when ordering or renewing the tag.
The new license plate gives Ole Miss alumni and fans in the Palmetto State another way to display their Rebel pride—turning every trip down the road into a small reminder of Oxford and the Ole Miss community.
