Ole Miss affinity license plates can now be purchased in Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas and Washington, D.C.
Mississippi
In Mississippi, tags may be purchased through county tax collectors’ offices. The cost of a collegiate license plate is approximately $51 per year in addition to the normal cost.
The Alabama Ole Miss license plate is $50 and can be purchased at tax collectors’ offices in Alabama.
Georgia
The Ole Miss license plate is available to Georgia residents with a registered vehicle in the state of Georgia. Please visit www.atlantaolemissclub.com to learn more and register for your tag today!
The Ole Miss license plate is available to Tennessee residents who are registering a private passenger motor vehicle through each county clerk’s office. The annual fee is $56.50—80 percent of the additional $35 collected is allocated to the Tennessee Arts Commission and 20 percent to the Highway Fund. The plate can be personalized with 5 characters available for a total cost of $91.50.
The Texas tag, which was designed, marketed and sold by MyPlates.com, is available for purchase from the Texas Department of Transportation. Plates can be purchased during your normal renewal and the cost depends on the style, as there are a few different options. Ten percent of each plate sold goes toward the scholarship endowments of our four local Ole Miss Clubs in the state of Texas. To purchase the plate, visit www.myplates.com/olemiss.
The Washington, D.C. license plate is now available. In order to obtain the Ole Miss plate, you must bring the following to any D.C. DMV service location:
- Completed Authorization letter from the Ole Miss Alumni Association stating that you qualify to receive the Ole Miss plate. The letter may be downloaded HERE.
- Proof of Insurance (if changed)
- One time application fee of $100
- Valid Identification of Registered Owner(s)
a. Valid D.C. Drivers License
b. Valid D.C. Learners Permit
c. Valid D.C. Identification Card
Note: You will be required to surrender both your current vehicle plates prior to receiving the Ole Miss plates. If you are replacing plates you will be charged a $25 replacement fee. The D.C. Department of Motor Vehicles retains ownership of the plates and shall rescind or revoke an organizational plate from any person who is no longer a member of the organization.
