It was a red and blue weekend as NYC Rebels gathered in the Big Apple to share their love for Ole Miss.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better turnout for the events held in New York,” said Scott Thompson (BA 97, MA 08), OMAA associate director for engagement. “Our NYC Rebels are proud of their alma mater and were excited about the return of Mississippi in the Park.”
The weekend started early with the Ole Miss Club of New York’s summer meeting held at Franklin Park on Thursday, June 13. Rebels packed the venue to hear UM Chancellor Glenn Boyce (BAEd 81, EdD 96) and other university guests.
The weekend’s festivities wrapped up on Saturday with the Mississippi Society of New York City’s Mississippi in the Park held at Pier 64 at Hudson River Park.

“Our alumni are passionate about all things Ole Miss, and our NYC Rebels are no exception,” said OMAA CEO Kirk Purdom (BA 93). “They can’t wait for us to come back next year.”
