Member Zone, the Ole Miss Alumni Association’s VIP area before home football games, is back and better than ever in 2021 with new food offerings, a backyard beer garden and more.
Member Zone is open to all active members of the Ole Miss Alumni Association and is typically open in Triplett Alumni Center until one hour prior to kickoff, with starting time varying with game times.
“ESPN recently named Oxford the No. 1 college town in the country, and it’s our goal to make Member Zone part of that and be a must-visit area for our members on football gamedays,” said OMAA Executive Director Kirk Purdom (BA 93).
Popular Member Zone features include guest-only restrooms; an air-conditioned viewing area in Butler Auditorium with multiple flat-screen TVs displaying different games; free soft drinks and snacks while supplies last; and giveaways including stickers, pom-poms and other spirit items.
Nonmembers and guests can be admitted for $15, and children high school-age and younger are admitted free. Alumni can join and extend their memberships onsite.
New for 2021 are the Ole Miss Alumni Beer Garden on Triplett Alumni Center’s back parking lot with tents, tables and chairs provided by Take it to the Grove Tailgating and a Taylor Catfish food truck with catfish, chicken tenders and barbecue nachos available for purchase. Bars serving beer and spritzers will be located in the beer garden and on the front walkway of the alumni center.
Inside, members will enjoy free soft drinks and light snacks such as chips and nuts, and special giveaways—Purdom said that for the Austin Peay home opener on Sept. 11, the first 200 people to enter will receive a free clear stadium bag.
“We’re excited to offer Member Zone to our active alumni and fans after taking 2020 off due to the pandemic,” said Purdom. “Thousands of alumni visit Triplett Alumni Center on gamedays, and we’re working to make Member Zone the world-class experience our members deserve.”
