Jessie Austin is currently residing in Washington, DC and works at Booz Allen Hamilton consulting firm where he supports the federal government in financial improvement and audit readiness efforts as a Senior Consultant. He is from Jackson, Mississippi. Jessie obtained his Bachelor of Accountancy in 2011 as a Roger Friou Accountancy Scholarship recipient.and then completed his Master of Taxation in 2013. He was a member of the Ole Miss Class of 2011 Student Hall of Fame, the Columns Society, the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College, and the Associated Student Body government. He served as an Orientation Leader, a Resident Assistant, a president of the Minority Affairs Leadership Council, a chairman of Rebels for United Way, and an officer in Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. (Nu Upsilon chapter). His favorite OleMiss memories involved participating in “Union Unplugged” showcases with his fraternity and other black greek letter organizations of the NPHC to raise awareness of both of their campus and Oxford community initiatives. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. used this platform to promote voter education and registration, to solicit volunteers for their high school mentor programs, to advocate against driving under the influence, and to facilitate a diverse and progressive community for the entire OleMiss student body.
