Jeff Hubbard (BBA 80, JD 83) was honored as the 2025 Law Alumnus of the Year during the University of Mississippi School of Law alumni luncheon held in conjunction with the Mississippi Bar’s Annual Meeting at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa in July.
Presented annually by the Law Alumni Chapter of the Ole Miss Alumni Association, the award recognizes a graduate who exemplifies dedication to excellence in legal education through active alumni engagement, significant support and unwavering loyalty to the law school.
Prior to attending Ole Miss, Hubbard graduated from Manhattan Academy in Jackson. As an undergraduate, he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Hubbard was also a member of the ASB Senate and was elected to what is now called Mr. Ole Miss. He was a mascot for three years and was the first to wear the Colonel Reb costume. Hubbard and some fellow cheerleaders developed what would later evolve into the Bud Light Daredevils. Anyone who attended Ole Miss home basketball games in the early 1980s likely saw Hubbard and his crew performing acrobatics that included dunking a basketball with the help of mini trampolines.
Today, he is a partner at Hubbard Mitchel Williams & Strain, PLLC, in Madison. In addition to his legal career, he volunteers for various organizations and raises money for great causes. He is a past president of Century Club Charities which is the host organization for Mississippi’s PGA Tour event, the Sanderson Farms Championship. During his term as president, the charity raised and donated $1.2 million to Batson Children’s Hospital in Jackson. His term also saw the expansion of PGA-sanctioned events in Mississippi, bringing the Web.com Tour North Mississippi Classic to Oxford, which provided another $100,000 to Batson.
Hubbard is currently president of the Ole Miss Alumni Association. He and his wife, Lisa, live in Madison and attend Broadmoor Baptist Church. They both proudly serve in Young Life Capernaum, a program that provides a fun and nurturing environment for teens with and without disabilities.
