After just one year, the Ole Miss Alumni Association’s Future Alumni Network, a student membership program that promises special discounts, benefits and events just for Ole Miss undergraduates, has passed the 500-member mark with 565 members and growing.
Counting all membership types including graduate students, the Alumni Association has 775 members enrolled at Ole Miss who enjoy Future Alumni Network benefits.
“Student engagement is becoming more important for our Alumni Association,” said OMAA Executive Director Kirk Purdom (BA 93). “The Future Alumni Network is designed to better connect students to our valuable network of alumni worldwide, while helping foster a love for Ole Miss and everything that makes our university special.”
Annual memberships are $25 annually, or $75 for four years. As an added bonus, what students pay in during their undergraduate career can be applied as a discount toward a Life Membership in the Alumni Association.
“The four-year membership is a bargain, and it also reinforces the idea that Ole Miss is your home for four years,” Purdom said. “Four years of student membership means $100 off a Life Membership, even if the student paid for the $75 discount membership.”
The student membership fee will go toward membership gifts, perks and Future Alumni Network-exclusive events. Through the Ole Miss Alumni app, students members can login and show their e-membership card to enjoy perks such as free printing in Triplett Alumni Center and scantrons.
“Our student members are definitely enjoying their free printing and scantrons and starting to see the benefit of being involved with the Alumni Association as a student,” said Sunny Eicholtz (BSFCS 09, MA 11), student engagement coordinator.
Student members can connect with alumni at events and through Rebel Networking, an online networking platform.
“We have been helping students get in touch with alumni in careers and cities of their interest through Rebel Networking and visits to our office,” said Eicholtz.
Upon joining, students receive a car decal and smartphone wallet as well as special discounts on retail and restaurant partners through a nationwide discount program. More benefits just for students are planned around Oxford, and a free T-shirt giveaway is in the works for later this football season.
