Each year at the Annual Meeting of the Mississippi Bar, the Alumni Association’s Law Alumni Chapter hosts an alumni luncheon for law graduates, faculty, staff and friends. Since 1974 the chapter recognizes one individual at the luncheon as the School of Law’s Alumna or Alumnus of the Year. Based on recent accomplishments or a body of work, this award recognizes alumni who show “dedicated encouragement of excellence in legal education at the University of Mississippi, evidenced by support and by unswerving loyalty to the Ole Miss Law School.”
At the 2015 UM Law Alumni Luncheon, held at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa on July 10, Cham Trotter (BA 69, JD 72) of Belzoni received the 2015 Law Alumnus of the Year award. Trotter served in several leadership roles within the Mississippi Bar, including president. He also served as president of the Law Alumni Chapter’s Board of Directors.
