How can I stay involved with Ole Miss?
One of the greatest benefits of being a member of the Ole Miss Alumni Association is the programming your association does to keep you linked to The University of Mississippi. You may not always have the opportunity to visit the Oxford campus, and the Alumni Association has the mission of ensuring you do not lose touch.
The Club program within the Alumni Association allows us to take a piece of Oxford and bring it to you. During the spring and summer months, we visit more than 65 clubs nationwide for their annual club meetings. The evening club meetings allow us to showcase the University’s athletics programs and coaches. The Chancellor then travels to about 12 different locations annually in the late winter and early spring touting the University’s research and academic successes. Active members of the Alumni Association receive all information sent out on alumni events in club areas. This includes postcard invitations, e-mail reminders and automated phone calls sent out in an effort to make sure you do not miss an opportunity to visit with your Ole Miss family in your club area. If you are not receiving any of these forms of communication, please contact the alumni records office to remedy the situation. Contact the records office by e-mailing records@olemiss.edu.
Perhaps you are attached to Ole Miss in more ways than one. Maybe you belonged to a constituency group like the Pride of the South Band or Cheerleaders or a branch of ROTC. You may also be very attached to your school, such as the Patterson School of Accountancy or the School of Education. The Alumni Association works diligently to keep you connected with classmates through annual reunions. Each spring several schools have reunions on the Oxford campus. During football season, a group may have a tailgate on the front lawn of the Triplett Alumni Center, or a school may host a tailgate in front of the school’s building.
It is not uncommon to see a group like Navy ROTC tailgating once a year in front of the alumni building, and the School of Pharmacy hosts sponsored tailgates at almost every home football game. All of this is coordinated through your Alumni Association.
