Alumni Awards
The University of Mississippi Alumni Association created the Hall of Fame commencing on October 19, 1974. The Hall of Fame will be governed by the following rules, to-wit:
1. PURPOSE: The purpose of the Hall of Fame is to honor those select alumni who have made an outstanding contribution to their Country, State or The University of Mississippi through their good deeds, services or contributions, all of which have perpetuated the good name of Ole Miss.
2. ELIGIBILITY: Any alumna/alumnus of The University of Mississippi shall be eligible to be nominated.
3. NUMBER AND METHOD OF SELECTION: Each year not more than five (5) persons will be selected from the nominations presented. In order for a person to be nominated, there must be presented, in writing, a resumé of such person so nominated, which resumé may be made by any individual. The written recommendations must be presented to, or filed with, the Executive Director of the Ole Miss Alumni Association on or before the 1st day of April of each year. From the nominations presented, a secret committee will select not more than five (5) persons, they being the outstanding ones to be honored by selection to the Hall of Fame.
4. PRESENTATION OF HONORS: The persons selected as members of the Hall of Fame will be presented and honored at the Homecoming Ceremonies on the campus at The University of Mississippi each year.
5. SELECTION CRITERIA:
I. An alumna or alumnus, as defined in Article III of the Bylaws of the Alumni Association of The University of Mississippi, who has “… made an outstanding contribution to their Country, State or The University of Mississippi through their good deeds, services or contributions, all of which have perpetuated the good name of Ole Miss.”
II. To be eligible for induction, recipients must agree to be present at the Hall of Fame Ceremony.
III. A nominee may be selected the first year he or she is nominated.
IV. The following individuals may not be considered for the award: deceased alumni (unless extraordinary qualifications or circumstances); elected officials and sitting judges; current faculty; employees of the University or one of its affiliated entities, if employed during the fiscal year (July 1 – June 30) in which the award is presented; and current Alumni Association officers.
V. Diversity is encouraged by careful consideration of the following: Past Presidents of the Alumni Association; geographic distribution; careers; gender and race.

Outstanding Young Alumni Award
PURPOSE:
This annual award recognizes an outstanding graduate within the last 15 years whose achievements have been significant to The University of Mississippi, to the general welfare of his/her community, to his/her profession and the business world.
2. To be eligible for induction, recipients must agree to attend the award presentation.
3. A nominee may be selected the first year he or she is nominated.
4. The following individuals may not be considered for the award: deceased alumni (unless extraordinary qualifications or circumstances); elected officials and sitting judges; current employees of the University or one of its affiliated entities; and current Alumni Association officers.
5. Diversity is encouraged by careful consideration of the following: former members of the Young Alumni Council; geographic distribution; careers; gender and race.
6. Nominees who are not selected are removed from consideration after three years unless they are re-nominated. Re-nominations are encouraged by the Alumni Association.

Alumni Service Award
PURPOSE: This award is to recognize those individuals who have consistently demonstrated extraordinary commitment, dedication, leadership, and service to the advancement of the University and the Alumni Association.
CRITERIA:
· A nomination is required. (Nominations will be considered for three years.)
· The written recommendations must be presented to, or filed with, the Executive Director of the Ole Miss Alumni Association on or before the 1st day of April of each year.
· Those persons who are eligible for membership in the Alumni Association as set forth in Article III of the Association’s Bylaws are eligible for this award unless otherwise specifically provided herein.
· Only living persons who are active members of the Alumni Association are eligible to receive the award.
· Candidates must have been dues paying members of the Alumni Association for 20 years to be considered. These years do not have to be consecutive.
· Philanthropic support of the University or Alumni Association is not to be considered sole justification for selection.
· The intent of this award is to recognize volunteer service to the Alumni Association and to the University over an extended period of time rather than for short-term service.
· One award may presented per year.
· Previous recipients are not eligible for consideration again.
· Current appointed or elected members of the Alumni Board, current members of the Board of Trustees, State Institutions of Higher Learning, and current employees of the University are not eligible for consideration.
· Past Presidents of the Alumni Association, who are otherwise qualified, are eligible for this award.
· Persons currently holding or running for elected state or national public office are not eligible for consideration.
· The recipient must commit to attend the awards ceremony. If a recipient who is selected cannot attend, then the next candidate on the list will be the award recipient.
· The award will be presented at the annual awards ceremony during Homecoming weekend, and the recipient will be expected to make brief acceptance remarks.
· The recipient will receive a suitable engraved plaque and his or her name will be added to a permanent plaque displayed in the Triplett Alumni Center.

Law School Alumni Hall of Fame
The University of Mississippi Law Alumni Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding alumni of the School of Law who have, through their professional achievements and/or service to the school, brought honor to the Law School.
The only requirement is that the nominee be a graduate of the UM law school; however, graduates cannot be nominated if they are politicians or judges who are elected or appointed and currently holding office, current law school faculty and staff, university employees who were employed during the fiscal year the nominations are submitted, and current Alumni Association and Law Alumni Chapter officers.
Those selected for the honor are to be recognized annually during Law Alumni Weekend, held in Oxford, MS.
Nominations and supporting materials are due July 1.
