Welcoming the next generation of Rebels just got a little more exciting.
The Ole Miss Alumni Association is unveiling a new initiative aimed at celebrating Rebel births and encouraging proud alumni parents to submit baby announcements to the Ole Miss Alumni Review. The enhanced program includes a trio of charming new items: a “Future Rebel on Board” car decal, a soft Ole Miss baby bib, and a custom-printed “Future Ole Miss Rebel” diploma personalized with the baby’s name — suitable for framing and perfect for the nursery.
The diploma, complete with signatures from Chancellor Glenn Boyce and Alumni Association CEO Kirk Purdom, will be mailed as a complimentary gift to alumni who submit birth announcements for publication in the Alumni Review magazine.
“We’ve always loved sharing Rebel baby announcements, and this new program is a fun way to recognize and welcome these future members of the Ole Miss family,” said Purdom (BA 93). “Our goal is to build stronger connections with our alumni by celebrating life’s biggest moments — and few are bigger than welcoming a child.”
While the commemorative diploma is reserved for families who submit an announcement to the Alumni Review, the matching baby bib and “Future Rebel on Board” car decal are now available for purchase in the Ole Miss Alumni Shop at olemissalumni.com/shop. Both items come bundled together for $15 and make thoughtful gifts for new Rebel parents and grandparents.
“These items are playful, personal, and deeply rooted in Ole Miss spirit,” said Steve Mullen (BA 92), Director of Marketing and Membership. “From a ‘Future Rebel’ bib at feeding time to a diploma framed in the nursery, we want these children to feel part of the Ole Miss family from the very beginning.”
The bib, made of soft cotton, comes in either pink or light blue and is embroidered with the “Ole Miss Future Rebel” design. The car decal features the “Future Rebel on Board” message, letting the world know there’s a Rebel-in-training along for the ride.
To receive a personalized “Future Ole Miss Rebel” diploma and have their baby’s birth announced in the Alumni Review, alumni should fill out the Class Notes form at olemissalumni.com/class-notes.
With this initiative, the Alumni Association continues its mission of fostering lifelong connections — starting at birth.
“We believe that being part of the Ole Miss family is a lifelong journey,” Purdom said. “It’s never too early to say, ‘Hotty Toddy.’”
