Does the app work on an iPad?
The app is optimized for phones. To find it for your iPad, make sure you are searching for both iPhone and iPad apps, not just iPad apps.
What does it do?
The app displays your electronic membership card, which you can use like you would your plastic membership card to enter alumni events such as Member Zone and receive discounts at local retailers.
The app also gives you access to the Alumni Directory, the latest Alumni Review magazine, and a nationwide retail benefits network. These features are for active members only so join today!
You will need to log in through the “login” tile or join the Alumni Association to see all the features, including the nationwide discount network. You know you are logged in and an active member when you see an electronic membership card tile on the app home screen.
Will I have to login or register each time I use the app
Nope! Once you register the app will remember you each time you open the app.
Why do I have to enter my email address?
Your email address is an extra security measure. For example, there may be two John Smiths living in Oxford, MS who graduated in 2001. Adding the email verification makes sure these two don’t get mixed up and confirms your identity.
Why doesn’t my membership status show up after I’ve downloaded the app?
There are two ways to initially register on the app:
The first way is to enter your given name (not nickname) in the app’s “Login” tile and provide your email address on file with the Alumni Association for security purposes. Your registration is matched automatically to your record, so your membership status will appear in the app.
If you’re joining the Alumni Association for the first time or if you are not already in the Alumni Association database, you will fill out a form that tells us who you are when you join the Alumni Association through the app. If you do this, you’ll be able to use the full functionality of the app and appear as a member.
How can I register and match to my record if I already created a new account?
If you created a new account but realized that you already have a record in our database, simply log out of the app and register again. This time, input your given name as it appears in our database and then input your email address to confirm your identity. Don’t worry about the new account you created—we’ll deal with that on our end.
I don’t see my name listed.
First, make sure you’re entering your name as it appears in your profile or at the bottom of any Alumni Association email. Nicknames won’t work! Most likely, we have your full or birth name in our database.
If you’re sure that you’re entering your name correctly, you may be new to our database. And that’s okay! In this case, go ahead and ‘Register’ on the “Let’s Find You” prompt, instead of trying to ‘Find Yourself’.
I bought or upgraded my Alumni Association membership through the app, but it is not reflected on my Member Card.
It typically takes 24-48 hours for new memberships to process. If you still don’t see your correct member status after two days, please email us at alumni@olemiss.edu.
