Alumni Association Partners With Ole Miss Golf Course

With a renovated course set to open in September and in an attempt to serve more members of the Ole Miss community, the Ole Miss Golf Course has partnered with the Ole Miss Alumni Association.

In January 2008 Watermark Golf was contracted to renovate the Ole Miss Golf Course. Watermark Golf’s principle architect, Nathan Crace, took the lead in the renovation of the entire golf course with the exception of the tee complexes that Crace redesigned in 2000. UM Golf Course

The scope of the project includes new green complexes with TifEagle Bermuda for all 18 holes and practice green using Crace’s well-known style for blending playability with excitement and aesthetics.

In addition to the greens, the project includes new sand bunkers (including 10 new fairway bunkers), a new irrigation system and irrigation lake, new and relocated concrete cart paths, expansion of the public golf practice tee, grassing of all fairways with hybrid Bermuda, and the addition of approximately 10 new front and back tees to different holes to create more length and variety.

Renovations on the course are nearing completion. A tentative opening date has been set for Sept. 1, 2008. Previously, discount memberships were limited to faculty/staff/seniors and students.

A new partnership with the Ole Miss Alumni Association will enable the Ole Miss Golf Course to offer new discount membership opportunities for Ole Miss alumni and their families including full membership programs which will be available at resident and non-resident rates. Cart plans also will be available.
