The Inn at Ole Miss Nears Completion

The form for the new tower of The Inn at Ole Miss is now complete.  The structural steel that connects the existing hotel to the tower is in the final stages of construction.  When looking at the new tower, you may now begin to see how the completed building will look.

Exterior brick work began in July with windows being installed as the brick work passes a window opening.  Bathroom fixtures and bathtubs are being installed.

The new parking lot in the rear of the building was completed in August and is available for hotel guests and alumni staff.

A live webcam allows alumni and friends to log on to the Ole Miss Alumni Association web site and view the current progress of The Inn construction.

Completion of The Inn is still set for February 2008 with it opening for business later that spring.

“The Inn at Ole Miss Steering Committee is committed to making our dreams a reality,” says campaign coordinator Tim Walsh.  “Due to our generous donors and the committee’s hard work, it is great to see the exterior of the new tower in the final stages of construction.”

Every suite in the new hotel tower has been sponsored and fewer than 10 rooms remain in the original Inn.  Rooms may be sponsored with a tax-deductible gift to the University of $55,000, which may be contributed over time, if needed.  The campaign has garnered over $14.1 million in gifts and pledges.  Those not interested in room sponsorship still have other naming opportunities in the sponsorship of chandeliers, benches or alumni bricks.

Individuals or organizations can learn more about donor naming opportunities and tax-deductible contributions to The Inn at Ole Miss by contacting Tim Walsh at 662-915-1878, tim@olemiss.edu or visiting the Alumni Web site.
